Block VI: Crisis Response Exercises

The Crisis Response Exercises are held at ETH Zurich in cooperation with MAS ETH SPCM educational partners from the private and public sectors, including Deutsche Bank’s Legal, Risk and Capital division and the Swiss Armed Forces College. These capstone exercises allow participants to apply their knowledge and skills gained throughout the MAS ETH SPCM in managing crises in a private and in a public environment.
Learning Objectives
The main goals are to understand the relationship between operational and strategic leadership, to recognize the linkages and dependencies of security instruments, to apply practical and conceptual crisis management skills and instruments, to train personal crisis fitness, and to identify transferable lessons learned for crisis management and business recovery solutions.
Learning Content
The course block contains the following topics amongst others: handling of multiple aspects of crisis response operations; understanding strategic and operational leadership in civilian and military scenarios; national security policy leadership instruments, resources, and processes; and, multilateral crisis management mechanisms, resources, and constraints.
