The MAS ETH SPCM originated as a joint initiative of the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), the Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports (DDPS), and the Swiss Military Academy at ETH Zurich (MILAK).

Swiss Confederation
The Swiss Confederation, represented by the Swiss Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sports and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, have been key public institutional partners of the MAS ETH SPCM since the program’s launch in 2004.

Military Academy at ETH Zurich
The Military Academy at ETH Zurich forms part of the core institutional and organizational body that supports and runs the MAS ETH SPCM program management.

Canton of Basel-City and Canton of Bern
These two major Swiss Cantons have sponsored the full participation of senior executives in MAS ETH SPCM programs. The support has been provided notably by the Cantonal Justice and Police Department and the District Government.

Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia
The Secretariat of the Crisis Management Council of the Republic of Latvia has supported the participation of a senior officer in an MAS ETH SPCM program.

Austrian Federal Ministry of Defense and German Federal Armed Forces
The Austrian and German Armed Forces, based on an invitation of the Swiss Armed Forces, have delegated General Staff Colonels to the MAS ETH SPCM program as part of their senior officer education program.
