Management Board

Prof. Andreas Wenger

is Chair of International and Swiss Security Policy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) and Director of the Center for Security Studies. Prof. Wenger is the delegate for the MAS ETH SPCM of the ETH Zurich Department of Humanities, Social, and Political Sciences. He holds a doctoral degree from the University of Zurich and was a guest scholar at Princeton, Yale, the Woodrow Wilson Center, and at George Washington University.

Dr. Michel Hess

is Head of Studies and Training at the Center for Security Studies, ETH Zurich. He directs the MAS ETH SPCM in cooperation with partner institutions. Dr. Hess has worked in 50 countries and has trained more than 2,000 security professionals over two decades. His previous experience includes positions as a senior civil servant, management board member, academic director, project director, and researcher. He holds four graduate degrees.

Ursula Durrer

is Course Coordinator at the Center for Security Studies, ETH Zurich. She is in charge of MAS ETH SPCM operations, learning and development. She holds a Master’s degree in History, Constitutional Law and Russian Literature. Ursula’s previous experience includes positions with financial services and technology firms. She has extensive experience in seminar and course organization, project management, process and human resource development, auditing and ISO certification.

GS Lt Col Simone Rossi

is Deputy Commandant of the advanced training course III of the Military Academy at ETH Zurich (MAS ETH SPCM). He is in charge of MAS ETH SPCM operations and serves as a liaison with the Swiss Armed Forces College and the Swiss Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sports. LtCol Rossi is a Swiss Air Force officer and holds a graduate degree in Construction Engineering from ETH Zurich.
